A boat has arrived on its own to the area of the Castle of San Gabriel de Arrecife in the early hours of this Wednesday.

As confirmed by the Red Cross, 16 immigrants have been located, all of them adult males of Maghreb origin and in "good" health, who have stated that there were between 20 and 25 people on the boat.

Specifically, it was the Local Police who, at around 06:00 hours, alerted the Coordinating Center for Emergencies and Security (CECOES) 1-1-2 of the Government of the Canary Islands to the arrival of the boat.

After that, a search device was activated by the Local Police and the National Police, which ended with the location of the 16 immigrants who, as reported by the Security and Emergency Consortium, have been transferred to the Aula de la Naturaleza de Máguez.
