A 45-year-old man has died by drowning on the beach La Laja del Sol in the municipality of Tinajo. The event took place at 16:55 this Tuesday.
At that time, the Coordinating Center for Emergencies and Security received an alert reporting that a man had been dragged by the current on the aforementioned beach.
A GES rescue helicopter, a medicalized ambulance from the Canary Emergency Service, Emerlan, the Lanzarote Emergency Consortium, Local Police and Civil Guard have been dispatched to the scene.
The GES helicopter rescued the affected person, who was in cardiorespiratory arrest, and transferred him to the place where the ambulance was. Once on land, the SUC personnel performed advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers without success, finally confirming his death.
The Civil Guard took charge of the body until the arrival of the judicial authority, while the Local Police collaborated with the emergency services.
