Last Saturday, the "joyful" day of music and tasting was celebrated at the Uga Market, which enlivened the morning in a square "very well received" by vendors, neighbors and visitors, who "continue to especially value local products, proximity products, and their derivatives," notes the Yaiza City Council.
"Yaiza is dedicated to the Municipal Market, not only because it is a visible meeting point that enhances the activity of farmers and ranchers, but also because it promotes the solidarity economy with a nod to the environment by promoting local production," adds the Consistory.
The Councilor for the Primary Sector of Yaiza, Silvia Santana, points out that "the activity of the Uga Market exemplifies the true exchange where both the vendors and the entire production system behind them, as well as the consumers, from whom we receive excellent comments, win." In addition, the public "enjoyed the 'Tebete' group's festive music on Saturday and the little ones enjoyed a children's play area with a mat to jump on," says Santana.
The Uga Market, open Saturdays and Sundays from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with reserved parking, offers meats, fruits, vegetables, jams, desserts, cheeses and handicrafts, and the entrepreneurs 'Josefina, fruits and vegetables' sell there; 'Yolanda Bravo, cheeses, yogurt and almogrote'; 'Delicias Rosi, bakery, pastry and fresh pasta'; 'Carnicería D.A.K', meats, sausages and Italian products; 'Art by Milo y Paolo', crafts, arts, gifts, decoration and souvenirs; and 'Lola Nouvelot - Teles', one hundred percent ecological and organic cosmetics, she lists.
