The Department of Culture of the Tías City Council and the company Cavéa Cómica Teatro, organizer of the II Amateur Theater Contest held from May 6 to 10 in the municipality, recognized the work of Francisco Hernández Delgado for a lifetime dedicated to this scenic art.

Francisco Hernández Delgado is the official chronicler of Teguise, but he began in the world of theater in 1959 in the Esperanza Spínola group, to which he currently belongs, so in this year 2019 he celebrates 60 years on stage.

As well as an award for his work, the Tías City Council and the Cavéa Comica Teatro company decided to distinguish him within the II Amateur Theater Contest of Tías in which, with the aim of helping and publicizing their work, different theater groups and companies from the Canary Islands and particularly from Lanzarote participate, to which different prizes are also awarded for best director, actress, actor, etc.

In addition, the contest includes recognition of a person from the island linked to the theater, with this year's distinction going to Francisco Hernández Delgado for his great work and dedication for so many years.
