The Tías City Council, together with the Conil 2026 Festival Commission and the Conil Sociocultural Center, invites residents and visitors to enjoy the festivals in honor of Santa María Magdalena and the Sacred Heart of Jesus, which will be held in Conil from July 18 to 27 with a broad program designed for all ages. The program keeps the town's traditions alive while incorporating leisure, cultural, and community activities for the whole family.
The mayor of Tías, José Juan Cruz Saavedra, states that "the festivals of our towns represent the best of our identity and of neighborly participation. Conil once again demonstrates that tradition, community, and hospitality go hand in hand thanks to the collective effort of its festival commission and the entire town."
The Councilor for Festivals, Miriam Hernández, affirms that "we have prepared a varied program so that children, young people, and the elderly can find activities to enjoy during these days, always maintaining the prominence of our traditions and citizen participation. This year, we are also launching the tapa fair."
The celebrations will kick off on July 13 with the envite championship, although there will also be a women's bola on Thursday the 16th. On Wednesday the 15th, an empleita workshop will be offered, and on Saturday, July 18, at 7:00 PM, Conil will liven up with the I Tapa Fair, enlivened by the groups Vocal Force and Sentimiento con Arte.
The program will continue with children's activities, craft workshops, pintadera, mojo and gofio, magic needle, zumba, ronda and chinchón championships, traditional games, and a foam party.
Among the most notable events is the popular pilgrimage on Saturday, July 25, at 5:00 PM, starting from the area of the Conil sociocultural center towards the Valeriano path until reaching the hermitage of La Magdalena in Entre Montañas, where the offerings will be made.
Subsequently, the XIX Juan Ramón Rodríguez Sepúlveda Folkloric Encounter will be held, which will bring together the groups Guanapay and Virgen de Atocha from Murcia, as well as a verbena with the parrandas El Botellín, Pal Porrón, and Malpeis.
The program also includes the X Miguel Ángel Rodríguez Sepúlveda "El Majorero" Memorial of Canarian wrestling, a tortilla and dessert contest with tasting, a popular barbecue, musical performances, and several verbenas.
The religious acts will take place on Sunday, July 26, with the solemn function and subsequent procession in honor of Santa María Magdalena and the Sacred Heart of Jesus, accompanied by the municipal band Peña de San Roque de Tinajo and the performance of Los Buches. On that same day, the play Las costureras de Mácher, by the Mácher Theater Group, will be performed.
The festivities will conclude on Monday, July 27, at 11:00 p.m. with a playback organized by the young people of the town and a final open-air dance.
