The Teguise City Council celebrates the patron saint festivities of the Sacred Heart of Mary 2024 with an extensive program of activities, which will take place from August 25 to September 1, in La Caleta de Famara. The festivity will include tournaments, workshops, shows and musical performances, among others.
The festivities of the Sacred Heart of Mary begin this Sunday, August 25, with the celebration of tournaments and shows and, at 9:00 p.m., the opening speech will be given by Juan José Duque Hernández on the La Caleta de Famara pier.
Next Monday, August 26, at 5:00 p.m., the blood donation campaign ‘II Tide of Life’ will be inaugurated next to the Sociocultural Center, which will be available until Wednesday, August 28. Also, at 10:00 p.m. there will be a night of ambient music with the musical group Café con Leche on the pier.
On Tuesday, August 27, the festival of colors will be celebrated with DJ Diego Díaz in the square of the town's Sociocultural Center. In addition, on Wednesday, August 28, the urban art festival ‘La Caleta X Urban X Fashion X Art’ will take place at 8:30 p.m. on the town's pier and will also host the performance of the Kilombo Musical group at 10:30 p.m.
On Thursday, August 29, the marine pilgrimage will take place at 6:00 p.m. departing from the Sociocultural Center. At 7:00 p.m. the mass will be celebrated in the town's church and, at 9:00 p.m. the Noche de parrandas will be celebrated on the pier with performances by El Golpito, Pal Porrón and Son del Norte.
On Friday, August 30, the comedian Kike Pérez will perform on the pier at 9:30 p.m. On the other hand, at 11:00 p.m. the popular verbena will take place with Leyenda Joven and Banda Nueva.
On Saturday, August 31, at 4:00 p.m., a popular verbena will be held with musical performances by Lanzarote Swing, Leyenda Joven, DJ Javi Fajardo and Banda Nueva on the pier.
On Sunday, September 1, at 12:00 p.m., the festivities of the Sacred Heart of Mary will conclude with the solemn mass and maritime-terrestrial procession accompanied by the Teguise Municipal Band ‘Teguiband’. Also, at 2:00 p.m. the traditional water verbena will be held on the pier with the performance of Banda Nueva to say goodbye to the festivity.
