The CULDECASE association organizes for the third time the descent of the path of the women of Graciosa, honoring the work of the women of Graciosa throughout the history of the island.
This Saturday, October 12 at 4:00 p.m. one of the most important annual events for the population of Graciosa is celebrated. This event was born three years ago with the aim of commemorating and disseminating the work that the women of Graciosa have been doing for so long to provide their families with the necessary sustenance.
The day will begin at 11:00 a.m. with a regatta of 8.55m Latin sailing boats in collaboration with the island federation of Latin sailing boats and the Canary Federation of Latin sailing boats, which at the end will have the participation of all the children passionate about the native sport of the sea par excellence.
In the afternoon, once the women dressed in traditional clothes arrive at Bajo el Risco beach, they will be transferred to the eighth island in the sailing boats; Graciosero, Marajamajo, Puerto del Arrecife, Villa de Teguise and Haría Volcán de la Corona. To finish with a small tribute act, popular food and a lively party for the whole town.
Thanks to the financing of the Heritage Department of the Government of the Canary Islands in collaboration with different institutions and commercial houses, 30 women will relive the work and tension that was experienced in La Graciosa until the 70s this weekend. Experiencing a unique experience and showing the world how hard the work of the women and men of the sea is.
So that the day can be enjoyed in the best possible way, the company Líneas Marítimas Romero will offer the boat service to see the arrival under the cliff, as well as a special service from La Graciosa to Órzola after the closing at twelve midnight.
