The coastal town of Famara said goodbye this Sunday, August 31, to its festivities in honor of the Sacred Heart of Mary with the traditional water party, a celebration that once again filled the dock of La Caleta with a festive atmosphere.
From the early hours of the afternoon, residents and visitors gathered around the dock to participate in this popular gathering, which has become one of the most anticipated moments of the program of events. Good humor, music and a dip in the sea were the main protagonists of the day.
Banda Nueva was in charge of enlivening the atmosphere with its repertoire, making the public not stop dancing and singing. The party, which lasted for hours, served to put the finishing touch to more than a week of cultural, sports and religious activities organized on the occasion of the patron saint festivities.
The festivities had started last Friday, August 22 with the official opening and, for more than a week, offered residents and visitors a varied program in which there was no shortage of competitions, festivals, liturgical acts and popular gatherings that reaffirm the identity and tradition of this marine enclave.
With the water party, Famara said goodbye to a festival that, one more year, managed to bring together hundreds of people around devotion, coexistence and shared joy on the Lanzarote coast.
