This Saturday, the Valterra festivities kicked off with the opening speech by Marcelino Suárez, who shared memories linked to the maritime tradition of the neighborhood and was accompanied by the Coros Iris del Mar group, led by Los Coquillos, DJ Maxi, and Salvapantallas. The fun continued with the playback and other activities aimed at young and old, which marked the first weekend of the Valterra festivities.
Organized by the Department of Festivities of the Arrecife City Council, led by the councilor responsible for this Area and Deputy Mayor, Echedey Eugenio, the program developed in collaboration with the Festivities Commission and the Valterra Parish includes a torchlight procession with the small image of the Virgen del Carmen at 8:15 p.m. this Monday.
The night will continue with the Grand Children's Gala at 9:00 p.m. and the performance of the Parranda Los Gurfines at 10:30 p.m. On Tuesday, the Day of the Virgen del Carmen, patron saint of sailors, after the religious service in the Valterra Parish that will begin at 7:00 p.m., a procession will be held through the streets of the neighborhood and the shore of the Charco de San Ginés.
