The International Museum of Contemporary Art, MIAC – Castillo de San José, the Casa de los Arroyo and the Pancho Lasso Art School will be the cornerstones of the II edition of Ser-mediation, a cultural program organized by the Tourist Centers that addresses the incorporation of artistic education as an instrument for analysis, reflection and transformation of the planet. The event will kick off next Tuesday, November 29 at the MIAC, Castillo de San José and will end on December 20 with a workshop that will be held at the Casa de los Arroyo.

“Artistic training must be a basic pillar to build a diverse and critical community with its environment, and capable of offering the best and most appropriate responses to the challenges of the present and future that may arise”, explained the CEO of the Tourist Centers, Benjamín Perdomo.

"Art is in the classroom, on the street and in everyday life, so the human being must assume formal education with means focused on culture and transdisciplinary activities to stop being a consumer and become a prosumer, that is, to be a receiver and producer of content simultaneously. The public sphere ceases to be the place for the acquisition and distribution of content to become a space to motivate the individual to learn, experiment and investigate", they point out from the Tourist Centers.

In this context, Ser-mediation offers answers to questions and proposes analysis, reflection and debate about the role that artistic and cultural practice should play in the future of communities.
