The LGTB+ association Lánzate is finalizing preparations for the third edition of the Proud Tapas Contest and Route of Arrecife, which will take place between August 1 and 30.
This Sunday, July 19, is the deadline for bars and restaurants to join this edition, which seeks to unite gastronomy and diversity in the capital of Lanzarote. They must complete a form through the following link
Included in the Lánzate 365 project and financed by the Directorate General of Diversity of the Government of the Canary Islands, it is aimed at establishments that wish to contribute to inclusive values and oppose hate crimes in the municipality of Arrecife.
Likewise, it invites catering establishments to create an original inclusive tapa that promotes the idea of equality, with an innovative name or creative ingredients and presentation, an experience that goes beyond gastronomy.
During the month of August, the public will be able to try the different tapas of the contest and, for those who wish, vote for their favorites through a QR code, which will be used to select the winners in the different categories.
The president of the collective, Nahum Cabrera, highlights that the tapas "have the dual objective of making diversity visible," where it combats LGTBphobia and promotes "dialogue around a table" accompanied by a gastronomic experience.
