The Harionetas Puppet Theater Festival Establishes Itself as a Cultural Touchstone in its Sixth Edition

The cultural event includes, until the 17th, a wide program of activities aimed at students from schools and institutes in the municipality.

The Harionetas Puppet Theater Festival is consolidated as one of the leading cultural activities on the island in its sixth edition. The event, organized by the Haría City Council, in collaboration with the Department of Culture of the Cabildo of Lanzarote and the Canary Islands Institute of Cultural Development of the Government of the Canary Islands, within the MARES program, will continue until next Sunday, September 19, confirming once again its success as an inclusive space, guaranteeing access to culture.

The mayor, Alfredo Villalba, emphasizes that events like this "become even more important by guaranteeing the population's access to culture and encouraging their participation." A commitment that, he highlights, goes further through the City Council's collaboration with local agents in order to continue advancing in the commitment to culture as an engine of social cohesion.

The Councilor for Culture, Evelia García, states that "this meeting represents an opportunity for the population of the municipality to enjoy a dynamic activity in which children, young people, and the general population can develop their creativity, while at the same time seeking to reinforce and promote the artistic activity of the municipality."

The VI Harionetas Puppet Theater Festival, which takes place in the La Tegala and El Aljibe halls, includes until the 17th a wide program of activities aimed at students from schools and institutes in the municipality. In this way, young people will be able to participate in training workshops on the basic manipulation of puppets, while school performances will be carried out.

On the other hand, from next Thursday, the 16th, until Sunday, the 19th, the two theater halls of the municipality will also open their doors to the general public so that they can enjoy different scheduled puppet theater shows.
