This Saturday night, the municipal tent of Teguise hosted the solidarity show "Magua" which featured the participation of the municipality's cultural groups. A show that has been directed by Daniel Aparicio and has been organized by the Federation of Folk Associations and the Department of Culture of the Teguise City Council. "All together", they gave the best of themselves with their traditional songs and their most representative dances, receiving the applause of the public that filled the venue.
The show was very enjoyable due to the high quality of the groups that participated, such as the Teguiband music band, which on this occasion featured the collaboration of professional musicians from other municipalities on the island, the Folk Groups, Guanapay and Guagime, the Los Valles and Teseguite parrandas, the popular music group Acatife, the musical group Calicanto, Los Diabletes and the CAES theater group and the choreographies staged by Daniel Aparicio and companions, capturing in them.
It is presented as the parallel history of two islands marked by volcanic eruptions, Lanzarote and La Palma. It had the special collaboration of Francisco Hernández, Official Chronicler of Teguise. Hernández narrated, with the mastery that characterizes him, part of the chronicles that collect the manuscripts of the time when the volcanic eruptions took place in Lanzarote and now the most recent ones on the island of La Palma.
The event was also supported by the mayor of the municipality, Oswaldo Betancort, the Councilor for Culture and Festivities, Nori Machín, and councilors of the Municipal Corporation. At the end, Daniel Aparicio, director of the event, was very satisfied that the objectives set had been achieved, thanking all the participating groups for their involvement, the municipal institution for their collaboration, and the public for their support with their attendance and applause.
The entrance fee was 5 euros and all the proceeds will go to those affected by the Cumbre Vieja volcano in La Palma.
