The Laznarote Sur Caliente troupe achieved a double of third prizes, costume and choreography, in the competition of the Carnival of the capital of Gran Canaria. The Lanzarote natives managed to take the awards with the show 'Party on the Great Wall' and the fantasy 'From the heart of China', by Yonay Alonso and Pedro Antonio Vizcaíno, respectively.

Although to the rhythm of their own theme with tropical airs, the group started with an oriental-inspired fantasy that gave way to an Olympic parade. With changes of rhythm and the 'Tumbado caña de fondo', the merengue took the track with feathers and colored strips.

Merengue, cumbia, salsa... a solo of bright colors would give way to the highlight of the show. Yonay Alonso's choreo surprised with a dragon from China itself and a display of red-green feathers before breaking with a powerful samba that would lead the staging to the Rio Carnival. Original closing to the sound of the batucada.

We have achieved it after a lot of work and sacrifice!, they have pointed out on their social networks.

The Baracoa troupe won the first prize for interpretation and the first for costumes and in second place Yoruba with the fantasy 'Rebirth' and the show 'Like a flower', choreography by Alba Díaz Pérez and Nayara Ramírez and a design by Aracely Pérez Vega and Omar Rodríguez.
