Resounding success of the presentation concert of the Youth Orchestra of the Canary Islands held on Wednesday night at the Santo Domingo convent in Teguise. The capacity of the convent in its side nave was completely occupied to house the 90 young musicians from various islands. Lanzarote also has its representation in this orchestra with the young violinist Pablo Ramón Araya Betancort. These young musicians, directed by conductor Víctor Pablo Pérez, have begun this journey through the project promoted by the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the Government of the Canary Islands.

To carry out this presentation in Lanzarote, the Department of Culture, led by Olivia Duque, put all the means so that the people of Lanzarote had the opportunity to enjoy a "unique concert", and completely free. For this, invitations were made available to citizens that were distributed in the Department of Culture and Casa-Museo del Timple in Teguise and in the municipal office, in Costa Teguise. The invitations were withdrawn by the public in record time. In fact, some appeared at the convent at the time of the concert without an invitation and could not have access to it since it was necessary to comply with the established security measures.

The Youth Orchestra of the Canary Islands began the concert with the 'Canarian Overture', by E. Coello. The program continued followed by 'Rondo for piano and orchestra in D Major KV 382', featuring the prestigious pianist Iván Marín. Next, the chords of the 'Symphony number 9 in E Minor, op 95', 'From the New World', sounded, and as a Christmas gift, the chords of the Canarian carol 'Lo Divino' also sounded. Immediately afterwards, the director wanted to test the public and invited them to participate with applause in the work 'La Marcha Radetzky'. At the end of the piece, he himself thanked the participation with his applause.
