On Wednesday afternoon, the residents of the town of Soo celebrated the festival of San Juan Evangelista, popularly known among citizens as San Juan de los Viejos.

At 5:30 p.m., the celebration of the Eucharist began, presided over by the parish priest Rafael Tejera, with the participation of the members of the folk group 'Guanapay' from Teguise. The group was in charge of enlivening the songs with Canarian airs intertwined with traditional Christmas carols.

After the Eucharist, the neighbors and the priest went in procession around the church, with the image of San Juan Evangelista looking perfectly restored, since last year it had suffered some damage due to a small incident.

Immediately afterwards and complying with the 'Navidad Isleña' program, the concert of the 'Rancho de Pascua Archinech' of Tinajo was held, in which its thirty members with their powerful voices performed the entire repertoire before an audience that did not stop applauding each of the songs performed.

The festival in honor of San Juan Evangelista ended with the tasting of sweet potato trout and a hot chocolate offered by the organizers and residents of the town of Soo.
