The designer Oswaldo Machín will be the town crier of the San Bartolomé festivities, which will be held from August 13 to 24
The mayor of the municipality, Alexis Tejera, and the Councilor for Celebrations and Sports, Isidro Pérez, presented this Tuesday the program of the patron saint festivities. The reading of the proclamation will take place on the 13th, at 9:00 p.m., in the Plaza León y Castillo, and will also feature a performance by Besay Pérez, with prior registration required at www.ecoentradas.com to attend.
That same day, the XVIII Historical Photography Exhibition will also be inaugurated, this year on Doctor Cerdeña Bethencourt Street.
Sports, music, theater and other activities
The program will feature a sports program that began this Tuesday and will extend throughout the festivities. There will be ball tournaments and the XXXI San Bartolomé Festivities Football Tournament will also be held, between the U.D. Lanzarote- U.S Yaiza and U.D. Las Palmas B-San Bartolomé C.F. teams, who will fight for the champions cup on August 14, at 4:00 p.m. As every year, the Veteran Football Triangular will also be held, this time between the San Bartolomé, Teguise Camper and Playa Honda teams, which will take place to conclude the sports events.
The mayor has invited all residents to enjoy these days of festivities, in which "the City Council has put all its effort into presenting a varied program for all audiences, which includes our deep-rooted events and novel proposals" and "where the music of various styles will have a great presence." In this regard, the proposals presented by the Choir and the San Bartolomé Band, the A.F. La Peña, or Teguey, and musicians from this land, stand out.
Among other concerts, the performance of tenor Besay Pérez, the concert of the Municipal Choir "Voces al Viento" with the performance of soloist Leo García, Eva Díaz (guitar), Diana Martínez (piano) and Aithor Hernández (sax), and the musical show "Vivir es Hoy" with performances by Ciro Corujo, Almudena
Hernández and music by Adrián Niz, José Vicente Pérez, Miguel Ángel Cabrera and Roberto Gil have been programmed.
The San Bartolomé festivities will also host the family musical show "Cefeo 2056, Save the Earth" by the Lanzarote Classical Orchestra, a concert by Elvirus and Anadie (rap and poetry from Madrid) and another by the rock groups Imtima and Maleficio. There will also be a party with Raíces y Pa´l Porrón and the musical show "Cantador" will also take place, with Manuel Estupiñán, Ciro Corujo and Pedro Manuel Afonso and the San Bartolomé Band.
The theater will close the festivities with the play 'The Legacy of Frankenstein' by Teatreros y Comediantes, and events such as the afternoon of stories, magic afternoon, various children's activities, workshops, the afternoon for seniors with a musical performance by Mariachis de Las Salinas will follow; family and varied games, humor performance "Inmujerables" with Iratxe Menalbert, Petite Lorena and Omayra Cazorla, fashion show, playbacks and "many more events, which will go hand in hand to commemorate an August with a great agenda", which the City Council hopes will meet the expectations of the residents.
The Consistory points out that the activities will be held "in accordance with the health restrictions we have at this time", so it is noted that it is remembered that capacity is limited and that it is necessary to register in advance.

Among the highlighted events, the program includes two recognitions, the Ajei for the Folklore Work to Pedro Luzardo Perera "Perico" and the event "In the shadow of the Palmera", with recognition to the artisan Victoria Martín Pérez (Cristobalina).
