Punta Mujeres said goodbye this Tuesday to the Fiestas in honor of Nuestra Señora del Pino 2026 after nine days marked by a high turnout, a good atmosphere, and the exemplary behavior of residents and visitors, with no significant incidents reported.
The Haría City Council takes a very positive assessment of an edition that brought together different generations around traditions, popular culture, folklore, music, gastronomy, sports, and leisure activities for all ages.
The mayor, Alfredo Villalba, highlights that “Punta Mujeres has once again demonstrated its ability to enjoy its big days through coexistence and respect.” He also points out that “the public's response reflects the deep-rooted nature of this celebration and the importance of continuing to preserve our customs as a meeting point for the people.”
Villalba especially recognizes the dedication of the Fiestas Commission and the El Marinero Neighbors Association, whose work was fundamental to the development of the agenda. “Their effort, commitment, and willingness have been key to each event being carried out successfully,” he states.
For his part, the Councilor for Fiestas, Alberto de León, thanks the involvement of the different areas of the City Council that participated during these days. “There is significant work behind each event, and we want to recognize all the staff from Fiestas, Security and Emergencies, Works and Services, Cleaning, and the rest of the departments that contributed to the proper functioning of each activity,” he explains.
The deployed operation also had the support of security forces. The City Council expresses its gratitude to the Local Police of San Bartolomé for their cooperation, especially during events that concentrated a larger number of attendees.
The program included traditional games, workshops, championships, children's activities, gastronomic gatherings, and musical and folk performances. Added to this were especially rooted events such as the Burning of Los Costeros, the pilgrimage, the evening dances, and the Fiesta de la Tapa, which helped to energize Punta Mujeres throughout the celebrations.
The festivities concluded yesterday with the celebration of the holy mass and the subsequent procession in honor of Nuestra Señora del Pino, accompanied by the group Alborada.
