The Culture area of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, coordinated by Councilor Alberto Aguiar, has opened this Monday, March 22, and until next Friday, April 23, the pre-registration period at the Centro Insular de Enseñanzas Musicales (CIEM) of Lanzarote for the 2021-2022 academic year.
All those interested in receiving musical training can sign up for pre-registration, with the only limitation being the minimum age of 5 years old, which must be met during this 2021. There is no maximum age limit.
All people who process the subscription will enter a draw to obtain a place, which will be held on Wednesday, May 12, at 9:00 a.m., in the Assembly Hall of the CIEM. In each of the categories of access to the center, the order of entry and the order of the waiting list will be drawn. The results will be published on the website of the Cabildo de Lanzarote from May 21.
Those applicants who have previous musical knowledge, instead of accessing through a draw, may opt to take a test to determine the level of Musical Language and Instrument. Detailed information on the composition of the tests is available on the CIEM website. The requirement for this method of entry will be that the applicant is at least 8 years old, or will be during the current year. Applicants who pre-register with musical knowledge may not participate in the draw for access to the center. The tests will be carried out in the second half of May.
The center offers a wide range of specialties: Music and Movement, Violin, Viola, Cello, Double Bass, Electric Bass, Singing, Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone, Trumpet, Horn, Trombone, Euphonium, Percussion, Timple, Piano and Guitar. Younger students, aged 5 and 6, will have access to Music and Movement courses.
In order to select Singing as one of the entry options, the applicant must have their vocal apparatus developed and be at least 16 years old.
Pre-registration can preferably be done online from home, entering the electronic headquarters of the Cabildo de Lanzarote with any of the telematic identification systems: permanent cl@ve, cl@ve PIN, digital certificate issued by any of the certification entities admitted by the Electronic Headquarters or electronic DNI or any other means admitted by the competent bodies.
People who find it impossible to pre-register online can do so in person by requesting an appointment at the CIEM by calling the telephone numbers 928 598 528 / 928 81 01 00 (extension 3200).
