With great joy and solemnity, the residents of the town of Muñique celebrated the feast of Our Lady of Fatima, which this year has been very special as it marks the 50th Anniversary of the Blessing of the Church. At 7:00 p.m., the Eucharist began, presided over by the Auxiliary Bishop of the Diocese of the Canary Islands, Monsignor Cristóbal Déniz Hernández, assisted by the parish priest of Tiagua, Rafael Tejera, and the parish priest of San Bartolomé, Francisco José García.

The songs for this special day were performed by a group of young people from the town led by Professor Vanessa Rijo, who were also joined by the voices of the parishioners who filled the small church, with another large group remaining at the entrance door.

After the Eucharist, the procession took place along the town's main road, where the members of the Teguise music band, Teguiband, led by Professor Ayoze Rodríguez, marked the processional pace. The band followed the image of Our Lady of Fatima carried on the shoulders of the residents of Muñique, the bishop, celebrating priests, municipal authorities, and parishioners.

Upon returning, and in the middle of the road next to the image of the Virgin, a group of town residents, women and men, joined together forming a group of toque and dance, performing folías, isas, and seguidillas. They finished with a song dedicated to Our Lady of Fatima performed by Vanessa Rijo and supported by Clotildo Martín.

The performance was greatly applauded by all those present, at which point the Virgin crossed the portico of the church with cheers and applause, thus putting the finishing touch to a very special day that will mark another page in the history of the town of Muñique and its residents.

It should be remembered that the land where the church and the parish hall are built was donated by the Muñique couple formed by Donato Ramón Guerra de León and Pilar Morales de León. After obtaining the pertinent permits, the community of residents of Muñique and the parish priest of the time, D. Cristóbal Díaz Rodríguez, were in charge of carrying out the construction, which was completed in 1975, with the blessing of the church being carried out by the Episcopal Vicar of Lanzarote, D. Agustín Álamo, by order of the Bishop of the Diocese of the Canary Islands, Monsignor José Antonio Infantes Florido.
