More than 150 people participate in the XII Tahíche Solidarity Race

The Santiago Apóstol and Santa Ana Festivals concluded their program with one of their most established events, the XII Charity Race, which once again turned sport into a meeting point for coexistence and solidarity.

Despite the organization deciding to advance the start of the race to 09:00 AM due to the high temperatures forecast for the day, more than 150 runners participated in this edition, responding once again to the call for solidarity of an initiative fully consolidated within the festive program.

In addition to promoting sports practice, the race allowed for the collection of a significant amount of food and non-perishable products that will be delivered to the Calor y Café association, thanks to the collaboration of the participants and all those who wanted to join this charitable cause.

The competition took place over routes of 6 and 12 kilometers, in addition to children's races, in an atmosphere marked by sportsmanship and coexistence. In the 12-kilometer distance, the winners were Tinguaro Quintero del Rosario and Monika Christine Heiden, while in the 6-kilometer race, Akorán Rodríguez Hernández and Aurora García Guerra were victorious. 

The organizer of the event and member of the Festival Commission, Domingo Cejas, wanted to thank the involvement of the runners, sports clubs, volunteers, sponsors, security forces, Civil Protection, health services, collaborators, and the Teguise City Council, whose support was once again fundamental for the proper development of the race.

He also highlighted the consolidation of this event within the festive program of Tahíche, emphasizing that, "beyond the sporting aspect, the race has become a benchmark for its ability to mobilize citizens around a common cause and contribute, once again, to the work carried out by the Calor y Café association".  

With this sporting and charitable event, Tahiche put the finishing touch to the Santiago Apóstol and Santa Ana 2026 Festivals, culminating several weeks of cultural, traditional, sporting, and coexistence activities that once again had significant neighborhood participation and the support of local groups, associations, and volunteers.
