The Art, Culture and Tourism Centers of the Cabildo de Lanzarote; Teatro Español and SOM Produce present next Monday, December 12, at 8:00 p.m. in Jameos del Agua "En Tierra Extraña", a musical theater that recreates the Spain of 1936 with a hypothetical meeting between the singer of coplas Concha Piquer; the writer Federico García Lorca and the poet Rafael de León. An event that never took place but would undoubtedly have been unforgettable.

The CEO of the Art, Culture and Tourism Centers states that ""En Tierra Extraña" is a proposal selected from those submitted to the cultural projects subsidy." "We encourage residents and visitors to attend a quality show, in accordance with the cultural values of the Tourist Centers and in a unique auditorium in the world," he says.

The main synopsis of the show is based on the fact that Concha Piquer has been accused of representing a Spain of tambourine and red-and-yellow flag. However, Federico García Lorca is consolidated as the undisputed leader of that other republican Spain with a tricolor flag. Both loved this country to the core, but both treasured lights and shadows in their ideology, in their way of life and in their personal decisions.

"Written and directed by Juan Carlos Rubio - a renowned Spanish screenwriter, director and playwright winner of several Goya awards - "En tierra extraña" does not judge them, it only offers them a meeting place, of possible and necessary conciliation between disparate positions, a board on which these three characters are going to play a decisive game, an irremediable and terrible checkmate. All to the rhythm of coplas and jazz," explain from the Cabildo.

Tickets can be purchased at a price of €25 at the Jameos del Agua ticket office or through the website www.cactlanzarote.com. More information here.
