The XXXV Nanino Díaz Cutillas Folklore Encounter, held this past Friday as part of the festivities in honor of Our Lady of Los Dolores, once again brought together a massive audience that enjoyed a magical night of music and tradition. Lanzarote once again embraced this festival, considered one of the most important references of folklore in the Canary Islands, which for three and a half decades has kept alive the cultural legacy of the remembered poet and folklorist from Gran Canaria.
The president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Oswaldo Betancort, highlighted the success of the event, noting that "this encounter is not just a musical show, it is a symbol of unity between islands and generations. Tinajo and Lanzarote have become the heart of Canarian folklore, proudly hosting a tradition that strengthens our identity and projects the best of our heritage to the outside world."
For his part, the Minister of Culture, Jesús Machín Tavío, highlighted "the warmth of the people of Lanzarote, who once again filled the venue and have shown that this festival remains one of the cultural jewels of the Canary Islands. The Nanino Díaz Cutillas Encounter is a bridge between tradition and future, and a reminder that word, music and dance are an essential part of our history."
