José Pérez Dorta highlighted the important participation and involvement of residents in the municipality of Haría during the reading of the proclamation that opened the San Juan Bautista festivities.
The proclaimer thanked the municipal corporation for the trust and responsibility placed in him to lead the opening ceremony of the festivities, in which he stressed that Haría has always been "an example of participation and neighborhood involvement" and cited examples such as Ranchos, the Guatifay theater group, the Malpaís de la Corona Folk Group, or the different neighborhood associations in the municipality."
José Pérez Dorta acknowledged that he himself has been an active protagonist of many of these groups and social initiatives, participating "with great enthusiasm and always demanding a better Haría." Pérez Dorta was first deputy mayor between 2015 and 2019 and has been involved throughout his life in the social and economic development of the
municipality, especially with the primary sector.
During the event, held at the La Tegala Sociocultural Center, Mayor Alfredo Villalba highlighted his career and commitment to the municipality. "I would like to thank José Pérez Dorta, on behalf of all our people of Haría, for his connection and involvement in our social, economic and political life. I believe that proclaiming our endearing patron saint festivities of San Juan Bautista is the best way to thank him for his great work over all these years," he said.
The reading of the proclamation also included the performance of Javier Infante, Alexis Lemes and Javier Colina. In the coming days, the program of the San Juan Bautista festivities will continue, which will include workshops for the little ones and sports tournaments this weekend, as well as the presentation of the Haría Awards and the Burning of Facundo, among other outstanding events that will extend until June 24.
