The Casa-Museo del Timple in Teguise continues with its concert program after its reopening last Wednesday. At 12 noon this Sunday, it offered the concert 'Fina Estampa', by the young man from Carrizal de Ingenio in Gran Canaria, Iván Quintana.
Quintana was accompanied by the classical guitars of two great musicians, the brothers José María and Juan Sebastián Ramírez, thus forming a magnificent trio for an intimate concert Tribute to María Dolores Pradera. The closeness that characterizes Iván and the complicity of the brothers José María and Juan Sebastián allowed each note and each word to come to life in a very special way with a repertoire known to many. Songs such as La Flor de la Canela, El rosario de mi Madre, La Media Vuelta, María la Portuguesa, Quizás, Quizás, Quizás were played, including, of course, the one that gives the concert its title, Fina Estampa.
From the first moment that this project began to take shape, the first thing that Iván Quintana ruled out was imitation, since he admired María Dolores Pradera and, on the occasion of the singer's centenary, he wanted to approach the public and together remember and sing some of those songs. Themes that for many have become their soundtracks and for the new generations to know a very important part of the musical legacy that the also known "Dama de la Canción" (Lady of Song) performed on the stages of the world, for her way of interpreting, for her know-how and elegance that made her unique.
Iván Quintana and the brothers José María and Juan Sebastián received the advertising poster of the concert that was given to them by the mayoress of the Teguise City Council, Olivia Duque, and the Councilor for Culture, Francisco Javier Díaz.
With this Tribute to María Dolores Pradera, Iván Quintana reaffirms his commitment to preserve and renew the musical heritage that unites Spain and Latin America, making the work of María Dolores Pradera continue to shine with its own light.
