The Playa Honda Urban Park became this Friday the epicenter of urban music and culture with the celebration of the first edition of the Playa Honda Urban Fest, an initiative promoted by the Department of Youth of the San Bartolomé City Council that brought together hundreds of young people and families in a day marked by participation, emerging talent, and healthy leisure.

For several hours, attendees enjoyed the musical sets of DJs Wiba, Hugo Egg, Óscar Fermín, Diego Díaz, Germán Martín, and Javi Fajardo, protagonists of a lineup made up of young artists from Lanzarote who filled one of the most dynamic spaces in the municipality with rhythm and atmosphere.

The mayor of San Bartolomé, Isidro Pérez, valued the reception of this first edition and highlighted that "the success of participation shows that there was a real demand for leisure spaces designed for young people, where they can enjoy themselves, meet, and express their creativity in a safe and healthy environment."

He also pointed out that "this festival confirms that when we listen to young men and women and work with them, proposals emerge that are capable of connecting with their interests and enriching the social and cultural life of the municipality."

For her part, the Councilor for Youth, Mónica de León, emphasized that "the Playa Honda Urban Fest has fulfilled the objective for which it was born: to become a meeting point for young people and to offer a participatory, inclusive leisure alternative adapted to new forms of cultural expression."

The councilor also thanked the involvement of the participating artists, municipal staff, and all the people who made the development of this first edition possible, "which encourages us to continue promoting initiatives aimed at young people and to continue creating spaces where young talent has visibility and prominence."

The Playa Honda Urban Fest emerged as a proposal put forward by young people themselves in the Youth Council and was consolidated as one of the closing activities of the academic year, reinforcing the San Bartolomé City Council's commitment to youth participation and the expansion of the municipality's cultural and leisure offerings.
