The traditional market of Haría celebrated its 25th anniversary as an artisanal benchmark, both for Lanzarote and for all of the Canary Islands, with an event in the town square, an initiative framed within the patron saint festivities in honor of San Juan Bautista 2026, which had significant participation from residents and visitors.

The mayor, Alfredo Villalba, pointed out that this anniversary "demonstrates the quality and relevance that local merchants and artisans have offered for decades." Likewise, he stressed that the Haría Award 2026, granted to all professionals who have been part of the history of this market, "recognizes their outstanding social, cultural, and economic work in favor of a community that has always worked for the municipality and its inhabitants."

For her part, the councilor for Markets and Crafts, Nuria Acuña, highlighted the institutional commitment to continue dignifying the sector and traditional products. Furthermore, she indicated that "we hope to continue celebrating another 25 years of this cultural space that represents effort and constancy, values that define our municipality."

During the celebration, in addition to the usual Saturday market, attendees could enjoy traditional and more contemporary offerings, live music, and activities for the whole family, as well as taste fresh products, among which cheeses, pastries, and organic, zero-kilometer fruits and vegetables stood out.

In addition, the artisans will receive a handmade gift from the students of the rosette workshops for the anniversary, highlighting the growth and boost of the sector.

One of the most outstanding events, within the tribute to the trajectory of the traditional market, was the celebration of a round table in which the value of this initiative, active since 2001, was praised.

A space of great importance not only for the town but for the entire island, thanks to its role in promoting culture, native products, and fostering an experience linked to the island's identity.
