The screening of the largest festival about the oceans in Europe, International Ocean Film Tour, in Jameos del Agua, Lanzarote, had a new absolute full house on Saturday night, even with a waiting list, in one of the most special events of the tour in this volcanic auditorium.

The festival has once again sealed a new record of attendance, filling the capacity of Jameos del Agua in a matter of days, and establishing Lanzarote as one of the iconic venues of the festival. With its 120 minutes of pure adrenaline, distributed in six short films from three continents selected from thousands of projects around the world, this event on the island of volcanoes featured director Gosia Juszczak as a guest, who presented her experience in the short film 'Stolen fish' shot in Gambia.

The magic that surrounds the natural setting of Jameos del Agua has exceeded expectations with the screening of Volume 9, which is made up of documentaries from Australia, Germany, Tonga, Lebanon, Poland, England, and Spain, with social activism as the main focus and Madison Stewart, Alica Forrest and Jordan de Boer as headliners with their short film 'The power of activism'.

In original version with subtitles in Spanish and simultaneous sign language translation, the festival takes on the challenge of building a society based on love, respect and defense of the environment, with current issues included in the 2030 Agenda for Circular Economy of the United Nations for a more just and sustainable society, addressing real equality, inclusion, fair reintegration, the fight against poverty, water management, sustainable cities or the creation of alliances, among other issues.

With the tireless Déborah Sabina as master of ceremonies, dressed for the occasion with designs by Abissi Moda and Rethink Your Garbage made 100% with recycled materials, the gala was sprinkled with surprises and novelties that have made this screening in Lanzarote a special event. The raffles among the audience of experiences thanks to the festival's collaborators stood out, with two double diving courses courtesy of the Pastinaca Diving Club, three marine biodiversity guides of the Canary Islands courtesy of Oceanográfica and two 'Unusual mountains' experiences, a volcano route, courtesy of Turismo Lanzarote, among other surprises and novelties.

This event in Lanzarote is a "special" event and is part of the festival's international tour, which travels through 18 countries in 350 events. For 17 years, the International Ocean Film Tour has screened carefully selected films and documentaries from the world of the seven seas on the big screen and with this volume 9 it celebrates its seventh tour in Spain.

The ocean festival will close its frenetic tour of Spain with a giant screen of 14.5 by eight meters in Maspalomas, putting the finishing touch to its national tour with its debut in the south of Gran Canaria, the first time this festival will be screened outdoors.

This festival, originally from Germany, through the German production company Moving Adventures GmbH, is promoted and distributed in Spain by Kinema Producciones SL and is sponsored for the event on the island by the Illustrious Cabildo of Lanzarote through Turismo de Lanzarote as well as the collaboration of the Centers of Art, Culture and Tourism of Lanzarote - CACT, Top Time Eventos, Sea Shepherd Spain, the specialized magazine AQUA, Pastinaca Diving Club and the environmental dissemination associations Lanzarote Limpia Lanzarote, Latitud Azul and Ambiente Europeo.
