The Teguise Town Council already has a theme for its 2026 Carnival, México Lindo y Más Allá, la Fiesta de los Muertos, which was chosen as the winning allegory after a popular vote in which 489 people participated through the municipal website.

With 196 votes (40.08%), the proposal that pays tribute to the Day of the Dead was the public's favorite, ahead of A World of Fantasy: Tales and Magic (178 votes, 36.40%), Legends of the Caribbean: Pirates and Corsairs (75 votes, 15.34%) and Legendary Texas, Teguise and Legends of the West (40 votes, 8.18%).

The winning allegory proposes a carnival full of soul, rhythm, and passion, with the elegance of the catrinas, decorated skulls, flowers, papel picado, and altars full of life, accompanied by the music of the mariachis, the flavors of Mexican gastronomy, and the joy of a culture that celebrates life by remembering those who are no longer here.

The Mayoress of Teguise, Olivia Duque, emphasized that "this result demonstrates that the citizens want to experience a vibrant, inclusive carnival full of tradition. The Day of the Dead will allow us to merge the festive identity of Teguise with a culture as rich and colorful as the Mexican one. Our Carnival will continue to be an island benchmark and a meeting place for joy."

For his part, the Councilor for Festivities, Andoni Machín, thanked the citizens for their participation and stressed that "there have been almost 500 votes, which reflect the interest and involvement of our neighbors. Now we are starting the call to choose the official poster for the 2026 Carnival, and with the preparation of festivities that will fill Costa Teguise, Teguise, and La Graciosa with color from March 2 to 15, 2026."

The Teguise Town Council will soon announce the rules for the official poster contest and the complete Carnival program, which will once again bring together thousands of people around music, entertainment, and tradition.
