Lanzarote already smells like Carnival and the groups are unleashed carrying out the presentation galas, revealing one of the best kept secrets such as the colorful fantasies that they will wear in the 2025 Carnival.

On Saturday night, the family of the murga 'Los Intoxicados', the longest-running participating in the contests and parades, performed at the Insular Theater 'Víctor Fernández Gopar, el Salinero', where family, friends and followers gathered, completing the allowed capacity.

The event began with the performance of the children's murga 'Los Titiñecos' from the Titerroy neighborhood. A group that was created in 2023 and that this year has 28 members directed in the musical part by Yuraima Cejas and chaired by Luis Tavio. The second place was for the children's murga 'Los Intoxicaditos', from the Valterra fishing district. Created in 1995, it currently has 35 members directed in the musical part by Francis García under the presidency of Cristina Santana. 'Los Intoxicaditos' were the announcers of the Arrecife Carnival in 2014.

The third place in the gala was occupied by the 54 members of the adult murga 'Las Sargoriá', who came from the tourist town of Corralejo in Fuerteventura, founded in 2005 and musically directed and chaired by Macarena Perdomo. For this gala, the invited murgas performed their parade and farewell songs, cautiously reserving their songs for the contests.

The event was closed by the host murga, 'Los Intoxicados', created in the fishing district of Valterra in 1982. This year it has 54 members, directed in the musical part by a banner woman, Cristina Marrero, whose dedication and joy infects her colleagues, keeping them active from the beginning to the end of the performance. Manuel Ángel Pérez presides over it.

'Los Intoxicados' presented their fantasy called "With this little money the Old Men are arriving", designed by the brothers Pablo and Naira Luis, made by Johana Zuleta. 'Los Intoxicados' began their performance with a cheerful parade through the aisles of the stalls and once on stage they performed the song 'La triple E', ending their performance with the lively farewell song with the complicity of the public.

As usual every year, distinctions were awarded such as 'Award for the best Companion', awarded by the members and this year it went to Pedro Rodríguez, the 'Award for the Murga Singer of the Year', awarded by the board of directors went to Chedey de León and the 'Gold Insignia of Los Intoxicados' went to David Pérez for his 25 active years in the Murga.

Los Intoxicados were announcers of the Arrecife Carnival in 2007 and the Arrecife City Council has not yet settled the debt incurred to put a street in their name and that is recorded in a minute approved in plenary session.
