The timple player David Rodríguez "El majorero" participated last Saturday night in the III Conference of the Association of the Canarian Timple "Timpleando". David, who was accompanied by his good friend and extraordinary guitarist José Bolaños, presented a concert called "Contraventura". A completely renovated work with all the unpublished songs composed during the confinement time, with very valuable texts related to experiences of characters that are part of the history of Fuerteventura and the Canary Islands.
For this concert, David carried out a constant change of instruments between the timple and the contra majorera, both accompanied by the guitar of José Bolaños. The timple player from Majorera had the voice of the soloist and friend, Sara Bermúdez, for whom he had prepared some arrangements that included the deeply rooted notes of the traditional Arrorró, Folía and Malagueña.
The public that filled the allowed capacity could also enjoy songs such as "Bocaína", inspired by the piece of the Atlantic that separates the islands of Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, "Unamuno", writer and philosopher who spent a season on the island of Majorera, "Blashina", dedicated to the Canarian composer and musician Blas Sanchéz, a fundamental reference in the cultural and musical field. "Mi chinijo Aimar", inspired by his young son, mischievous but very observant of all the movements of his father.
The concert came to an end with the incorporations of two high-level soloists such as Vicky Rodríguez and Sixto Acosta who were among the public whom David invited to join their voices to that of Sara Bermúdez and perform some seguidillas from Lanzarote, thus putting the finishing touch to the III Conference of the Association of the Canarian Timple "Timpleando".
