Dear residents of Lanzarote,

During the May bank holiday, I will be on your island with the wicked intention of performing a monologue. I don't do it often, so you should take the opportunity to see me live. What awaits you? Nonsense like pianos, nihilistic songs and suggestive dances (at some point I can also bless pets, retirees or newborns).

I'll be waiting for you!

The comedian Joaquín Reyes has sent this letter to the Centers for Art, Culture and Tourism (CACT) announcing his performance at Jameos del Agua on April 30 at 8:00 p.m. According to a note issued by the CACT, Reyes is "one of the most important comedians on the current national scene" and will narrate from the emblematic stage of the volcanic tube a monologue in which he tells experiences and anecdotes in a journey through humor in a comedy key "absurd and chichinavesca."

The president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote and of the Board of Directors of the Tourist Centers, María Dolores Corujo, encourages the population of the island to enjoy "one of the great exponents of humor that is currently made in our country, a creator without limits or restrictions, a top-level comedian who guarantees laughter and joy."

The father of Enjuto Mojamuto, among others, is, without a doubt, one of the great standard-bearers of contemporary absurd and surreal humor. With a degree in Fine Arts, Reyes has transformed comedy together with university classmates such as Julián López, Raúl Cimas and Ernesto Sevilla thanks to mythical television programs such as 'La hora chanante', 'Muchachada Nui' and 'Museo Coconut'.

Reyes is an actor, comedian, scriptwriter, cartoonist and DJ. In addition, he was the creator of the animation page 'Cartun.com' in which he began to develop some of his most popular characters loved by the general public.

He rose to fame in 2002 and, since then, he has shown his ungainly humor on radio, film and television, never abandoning theaters, where he has shone with monologues in shows such as 'Viejóvenes' or 'Festejen la broma'.

The CEO of the Tourist Centers, Benjamín Perdomo, points out "the importance for the population of the island to access quality cultural circuits" and, in the same way, "encourages citizens to enjoy a safe bet for humor and laughter."

Tickets for the Joaquín Reyes show can be purchased through the website.
