The Culture and Crafts areas of the Cabildo de Lanzarote have announced the opening of the call for artisans interested in participating in the 35th edition of the Lanzarote Crafts Fair. This event, which will take place from September 10 to 15 in the town of Mancha Blanca, in Tinajo, seeks to promote and preserve the rich cultural and artisanal heritage of the region.

The Councilor for Crafts of the Island Council, Aroa Revelo, details that "this important fair is a unique opportunity for local artisans and the rest of the islands to exhibit and market their products, as well as for visitors to immerse themselves in the authenticity and creativity of Canarian crafts."

Revelo points out that "artisans interested in participating can submit their applications until May 12 through the website."

The main objective of this call is to select those artists whose works reflect the quality, creativity and originality of Canarian crafts. Therefore, applicants are required to meet the following requirements:

For the crafts category, those interested must have a valid artisan card, issued by a Cabildo of the Canary Islands, as well as demonstrate the quality and professionalism of their work through an updated photographic dossier.

Likewise, a selection committee will evaluate the applications based on objective criteria, including the quality of the product, its connection with Canarian culture and its innovative potential. Admitted applicants will be announced on June 1, 2024.
