Arrecife starts its December program with exhibitions, round tables, silent film and concerts

The program of events planned for this week by Cultura Arrecife will culminate from 7:30 p.m. in La Recova with different musical performances.

Cultura Arrecife launched its December program yesterday, Wednesday, with an open conversation with the public about the exhibition hosted by the Casa de la Cultura Agustín de la Hoz entitled Por los llanos de Guasia by Mario Delgado, organized jointly with the Department of Culture of the Cabildo de Lanzarote.

The meeting was attended by the Lanzarote artist Mario Delgado himself and the graphic designer Grego Matos, who spoke about the development and materialization of the editorial project of the publication on the artist's painting that accompanies this exhibition: Mario Delgado. Tapestries, paintings and drawings.

Open to the public until February 15, the exhibition consists of a selection of paintings and drawings that take as inspiration different locations, ruins and traditional houses in the landscape of Lanzarote, making a plastic and visual tour of emblematic places on the Island.

 

'Modern Times'

The next cultural proposal of the Department led by Abigail González will also take place in the Casa de la Cultura Agustín de la Hoz, today Thursday from 8 p.m., framed in the III Festival Tiempos Modernos, promoted by the Nino Díaz Foundation and characterized by combining silent film and live music and that as always will have free access until full capacity is reached.

On this occasion the German film will be screened directed in 1924 by F.W. Murnau The Last Man ('Der Letzte Mann') which deals with how an old doorman of a luxurious hotel, proud of his work and respected by everyone in his neighborhood, is abruptly reassigned to the toilet attendant due to his advanced age. The music will be provided by the pianist Natalia Nikolaeva, born in Crimea and resident in Lanzarote.

 

Concerts

And on Saturday the 7th, at noon, the Casa de la Cultura Agustín de la Hoz will host the last concert of this year of the classical and modern music festival Noon, starring the violins of the Tenerife 'Dúo Salas. Ensemble de Cuerda', composed of Carmen Vázquez and Abdiel Valiente, and which will also have free access until full capacity is reached.

The program of events planned for this week by Cultura Arrecife will culminate from 7:30 p.m. in La Recova (old municipal market located behind the Town Hall) with the concert 'Christmas between boats and skiffs', with performances by Ciro and Pancho Corujo as 'Los Harianos', Yoana and Moneiba García as 'Las tormentas' and the group 'Jaleo'. The Centers for Art, Culture and Tourism (CACT) of the Cabildo de Lanzarote collaborate in its organization and will also have free access until full capacity is reached.
