Arrecife inaugurated its traditional Christmas Nativity Scene this Thursday, which occupies an area of 115 square meters inside the municipal La Recova.

Made up of around 250 pieces, the Nativity Scene recreates a typical Canarian town, in which several symbolic places of Arrecife are represented, such as the old Puertos Naos dock, the Charco de San Ginés and La Recova itself. The jolateros also have a presence in this Nativity Scene, whose birth has been recreated inside a volcano.

The Arrecife Nativity Scene has been created in an artisanal way by workers from different areas of the City Council under the direction of Tejure, an employee of the Festivities area.

The inauguration was attended by the Bishop of the Diocese of the Canary Islands, José Mazuelos, who, together with the parish priest of the Church of San Ginés, Miguel Hernández, blessed the Nativity Scene. The event was also attended by the mayor of Arrecife, Ástrid Pérez, the Councilor for Culture and Festivities, Alfredo Mendoza, and other councilors from the government group and the opposition.

The visiting hours of the Nativity Scene will be from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. from Monday to Saturday and from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Sundays. According to the City Council, protocols against Covid will be applied for your visit, so that capacity will be controlled and temperature will be taken at the entrance.
