An emotional and massive proclamation starring Toño de la Hoz marked the start this Friday of the Valterra Festivities in honor of the Virgen del Carmen.
The event featured speeches by the mayor of Arrecife, Yonathan de León, and the deputy mayor of the city, Echedey Eugenio. Both recognized the figure of the herald and congratulated the Festivities Commission represented on stage by the president of the Valterra Neighborhood Association, Antonio Leal, who led the event, and the treasurer of the Valterra Sports Union, Patricia Sabaris, who also spoke.
Appreciated and loved in the neighborhood where he was born - more specifically in Tahíche chico, as he specified - throughout Arrecife and the entire island, Toño reviewed from memory his experiences linked largely to soccer, indoor soccer, and Carnival, evoking in an entertaining and emotional way numerous situations and people, in a proclamation interrupted on several occasions by the applause of the numerous public, among whom were many friends and family of the herald.
