The writer Alexis de la Cruz and the Lanzarote label Ediciones Remotas present, within their poetry collection, the book of poems Pandemia a corazón abierto (Pandemic with an Open Heart). The presentation will be on Thursday, March 13, at 7:00 p.m., at the Agustín de la Hoz House of Culture in Arrecife.
Admission is totally free and the journalist and writer Myriam Ybot will also participate in the event, who will talk about different aspects of how the book was created together with the author.
This work was born with the confinement experienced by the population as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic from March 2020. In this stage that plagued the entire population, de la Cruz used poetic writing as a lifeline to cling to.
The book of poems is written in chronological order and starts on March 14 and ends two months later with the de-escalation of the confinement in May 2020. The book of poems is, in the author's words, "the bittersweet fruit of those days of confinement."
This is the third title of Poesías remotas (Remote Poems), a collection in which Macarena Nieves and Ignacio Romero have already participated. The book Pandemia a corazón abierto (Pandemic with an Open Heart) is now available in bookstores and has a price of 9.5 euros.
