A Civil Guard officer, who was the brother-in-law of the woman accused of committing a crime in Costa del Silencio, in Arona (Tenerife), testified that on July 5, 2023, one day before the murder, she called him asking what would happen if she killed someone, to which he replied that it was madness and that she could spend 20 years in prison.
The statement took place on the second day of this jury trial regarding the discovery of a lifeless man's body in a house where the accused lived in Costa del Silencio, inside which the other accused was also present.
The civil guard says that when he heard this comment, he didn't give it too much importance because it sounded like she was drunk, her words were not coherent, she seemed very sad, depressed, and was crying.
Brutally assaulted
She told him that on Saint John's Day, just a week earlier, the deceased had become jealous because she had seen her with other men and had brutally assaulted her, which is why he always insisted that she file a reportThe deceased's mother stated that her son had been with her at her house in San Isidro all day until around 8:00 PM when he received a call and said he was going to the accused's house. He told his mother that if he didn't return, it was because he was staying at her place, and he finally left at 9:00 PM
Two parallel relationships: jealousy, drugs, and violence
The accused's sister stated that they had known the deceased their whole lives and that at some point a relationship began between them, but they didn't like it when they saw that he induced her to use hard drugs. Her sister added that the day before, the accused had said she was going to commit suicide and assured that she maintained a parallel relationship with the other accused and that he was "very, very, very jealous," while the deceased supplied her with drugs and mistreated her "physically and mentally".
The accused's mother blamed the deceased, whom she had known forever, for her daughter's situation at all times, holding him responsible for introducing her to hard drugs to the point where she weighed 50 kilos. When she found out what had happened, she was relieved that her daughter was not the deceased and regrets not having filed a complaint at the time.
The accused's mother also recounted that at the time she received a message on her mobile by mistake from the deceased, which said, addressing the accused: "You are the love of my life, take good care of yourself, I will always love you, I don't have much time left to live." She also assured that she never liked either the accused or the deceased as a couple because they were constantly getting into trouble, one assaulted and raped her and the other was always watching her, to the point of harassment.
A neighbor who lived next door to the accused's house says she didn't hear any noise that afternoon, likely because she was cleaning the patio. She also mentioned that the accused occasionally had parties and had told her that she was violated with a stick, for which she advised her to go to the doctor and the police. She assures that she "always lived in fear" and is not surprised that she had announced her suicide a day earlier.
