The Criminal Chamber of the Superior Court of Justice of the Canary Islands (TSJC) has dismissed the appeal of one of the three young men who were convicted of stabbing another in the House of Youth of Arrecife, in 2019, the TSJC reported this Tuesday.

In the ruling, dated December 9, the appeal of one of the convicts by the Second Section of the Provincial Court of Las Palmas for attempted homicide is dismissed.

The convicts, two of Colombian nationality and one Spanish, were sentenced to penalties of between 6 and 8 years in prison and to pay compensation to the victim of 24,180 euros.

The TSJC now confirms that the crime of homicide has the "ideal fit" for the facts judged, rejecting the appellant's intention that it be considered only as a crime of injury.

Thus, they confirm the judgment of the Provincial Court in full without making any pronouncements regarding costs. The decision of the TSJC is not final and against it and before said chamber an appeal could be filed within a period of 5 days.
