The Court of Instruction number 2 of Arrecife will hold a trial for minor offenses this Tuesday in the capital of Lanzarote for the viral case in which a young man kicked a 65-year-old man in the head in Los Geranios.
The events occurred on Wednesday, June 7, 2023, at the Los Geranios roundabout in Arrecife. A video on social networks then showed how a motorcyclist got off the vehicle and, after an argument with the driver of a car, kicked him in the face.
What could be seen through the video is how, after a previous discussion that is not included in the images, S., the driver of the motorcycle hit T., the driver of the car with the door of his car. After that, T., a 65-year-old man, got out of the vehicle and took his mobile phone to take a photo. At that moment, the driver of the motorcycle tried to kick him for the first time without success, then tried again on a second occasion, kicking him in the face, throwing T. to the ground.
The victim filed a complaint with the National Police and accuses the motorcyclist and another companion of a minor offense of damage and another of injury. Meanwhile, the defense lawyer for the driver of the motorcycle assured La Voz at the time of the events that they would file a complaint for reckless driving and an alleged crime of attempted homicide. According to his version, the 65-year-old man allegedly tried to run over the two occupants of the motorcycle and for that reason he would have attacked him.
