The First Section of the Provincial Court of Las Palmas will try six defendants next week in Lanzarote for introducing "significant quantities" of drugs through the coast of Lanzarote, specifically hashish and cocaine, using inflatable boats. The Prosecutor's Office seeks to reach an agreement with the defendants before the oral trial is held.
According to the Prosecutor's Office's indictment, three of the defendants A.L.E., E.F.D. and A.T.F.O., were the alleged perpetrators and those who were dedicated to introducing these large quantities of drugs on the island.
The Public Ministry accuses them of going in the early morning of January 9, 2024 to the Cantería beach, in Órzola, to collect the drugs. After that, they allegedly used two cars, a Chevrolet and a Citroen Berlingo, to a garage located on Jose Alonso street, located between the Arrecife neighborhoods of Valterra and Los Alonso.
The Prosecutor's Office points out that this garage, in the same building as the residence of one of the defendants, was the final storage place for the drugs, from where they allegedly distributed and sold them.
According to the information that La Voz was able to obtain at the time, one of the defendants is an expert fisherman in the area and a great connoisseur of the sea, who allegedly used his boats to go to meeting points in the high seas to collect the drugs that he would later take to the coast.
Among the reasons for suspicion of the agents, the police highlighted the high standard of living they led despite the fact that many of them did not have paid jobs.

In the framework of this investigation, up to three rounds of searches were carried out. In addition, the agents also found 63,258 euros in cash, which, according to the Prosecutor's Office, come from the illicit sale of drugs.
In addition, in the garage of the houses in Arrecife they searched the interior of a Renault Kangoo, where they located 55.7 kilograms of cannabis, worth 107,942 euros. This finding led to new searches.
