The First Section of the Provincial Court will try next Tuesday four defendants accused of introducing and distributing drugs in Lanzarote.

The Public Prosecutor in his indictment places M.A.C.P., convicted of an Attack crime not computable for the purposes of recidivism, as "the head of the network". This man allegedly directed the introduction of cocaine on the island, and then distributed it illegally. To do this, he used "human couriers" or "mules."

The Prosecutor's Office points out that the "head" of the network used another of the accused, A.J.R.R., to pick up the "human couriers" who arrived in Madrid from Lanzarote and provided him with accommodation, as well as narcotic substance to transport it to the island.

At the same time, according to the Public Prosecutor's Office, he relied on N.R.P.B. and D.F.M.M. to sell the cocaine.

The Public Prosecutor's Office stated that D.F.M.M. and M.A.C.P. devised that the accused J.L.G.V. would transfer the drug on July 27, 2019 on a flight between Madrid and Lanzarote. In this case, the accused J.L.G.V. allegedly transferred 911 grams of cocaine with a purity of 29.36%, which would reach 34,933.855 euros on the illicit market.

As a result, on November 22, 2019, the home of the accused N.R.P.B., located on Huelva Street in Arrecife, was searched. In the search, 25.56 grams of cocaine were seized with a purity of 28.75%, amounting to 948.513 euros. In addition, a mobile phone was seized.

On the same November 22, 2019, the home of M.A.C.P., on Tinamala Street in Arrecife, was also searched, seizing two mobile phones, a tablet, a Lycamovil card and a hydraulic press.

While the accused D.F.M.M. had a mobile phone seized, as well as a SIM card and 1,260.95 euros in cash.

For her part, the accused J.L.G.V. remained in pre-trial detention from July 30, 2019 to November 16, 2020, while A.J.R.R. remained only ten days from December 17, 2019 to December 27 of that same year.

The Prosecutor's Office considers that these facts constitute a crime against public health in the form of a substance that causes serious damage to health.

For M.A.C.P. requests a sentence of six years in prison and special disqualification from the right to passive suffrage for the duration of the sentence and a fine of €107,707.104.
