Manuel Esteban Montoro confessed last Monday before the Jury Court, whose trial is ongoing in the Second Section of the Provincial Court of Las Palmas in Gran Canaria, that he had stabbed to death a 40-year-old man in Playa Blanca (Yaiza) to steal his mobile phone.

The events took place at 8:30 PM on the night of July 25, when Manuel Esteban saw the victim sitting in a café in the southern tourist town of Lanzarote. At that moment, as he confessed before the Court, an argument began between them and he decided to stab him up to three times, one in the lobe, another in the chest, and another in the abdomen, which ended his life.In the second part of the trial, held last Tuesday, the experts indicated that it was the second stab wound that ended the victim's life, piercing his heart and causing him to lose up to two liters of blood. As reported by the newspaper *La Provincia*, these forensic doctors did not detect that his abilities were altered at the time of the events.Despite Manuel Esteban's confession and his defense's request to reduce the sentence to ten years in prison, both the prosecution and the private prosecution, representing the deceased's mother, have maintained their **request for thirteen years in jail**. Both emphasized that there is no justification for ending another person's life
