The woman who allegedly killed her 32-year-old daughter in Breña Alta (La Palma) by gas inhalation has been imprisoned accused of murder with the aggravating circumstance that the victim was a person of special vulnerability, due to suffering from autism.
The alleged crime occurred in the early hours of last Tuesday and the victim's mother has testified before the judicial authority, which has ordered her provisional imprisonment without bail, the Superior Court of Justice of the Canary Islands (TSJC) has reported.
Investigations indicate that the inhalation of gases was caused by the victim's mother, who in turn was hospitalized after allegedly attempting to take her own life in the same way.
The mother is known in La Palma for being an activist for the rights of people with disabilities.
