Prosecutor's Office requests eight years in prison for a woman arrested at the airport with more than one kilo of cocaine

The First Section of the Provincial Court of Las Palmas will judge next Tuesday, March 28, a woman accused of a crime against public health for allegedly introducing four packages of cocaine in Lanzarote. The Prosecutor's Office has requested eight years in prison, the disqualification of passive suffrage during that period and a fine amounting to 387,610 euros.

The events that are attributed to her occurred on December 4 at about 9 in the morning. P.B. allegedly carried in her body 1.368 kilograms. At that time she landed at the César Manrique airport in Lanzarote, coming from a Vueling flight with origin Barcelona.

The value of the drug she was carrying, "in the illicit market to which it was destined", would have amounted to "129,000 euros", according to the indictment filed by the Public Prosecutor's Office. The narcotic had an average richness of 72.45%.

The woman, who had no criminal record, has been in provisional prison since December 6.
