Agents of the National Police have arrested in Lanzarote a 37-year-old woman with no police record, as the alleged perpetrator of a drug trafficking crime.
The National Police carries out periodic controls on hot flights (flights used as a habitual route by "mules" who try to introduce drugs) upon arrival at the César Manrique Airport in Lanzarote. In one of them, coming from Barcelona and this in turn from the Dominican Republic, the investigators identified a 37-year-old woman. She voluntarily admitted to the agents that she had more than one kilogram of cocaine attached to her body.
For this reason, she was transferred to police facilities where it was effectively verified that she was carrying 1,391 grams of cocaine attached to her body, proceeding to her arrest as the alleged perpetrator of a drug trafficking crime.
Once the proceedings were completed, she was placed at the disposal of the competent Judicial Authority who ordered her imprisonment.
