The Sixth Section of the Provincial Court of Las Palmas will try next Monday a man accused of selling cocaine in the bar he ran in Arrecife. The Prosecutor's Office is asking for 5 and a half years in prison for him, although given that the Chamber has scheduled less than an hour for the hearing, an agreement of conformity could have already been reached that would reduce the sentence.
The events occurred in the early morning of February 3, 2017, when the accused, T.B., delivered a 0.44 gram bag of cocaine to another person inside the bar. According to the indictment, the amount paid by the buyer could not be determined, but the drug had a value in the illicit market of 28.32 euros.
After being arrested after the exchange, T.B. was seized 140 euros in cash, and the cocaine was also seized.
The Prosecutor's Office accuses him of a drug trafficking crime of substances that cause serious damage to health, and in addition to the penalty of 5 and a half years in prison, it requests that a fine be imposed for the value of the seized drug, that is, 28.32 euros. It also requests that both the drug and the money seized at the time of the arrest be definitively confiscated.
