The Civil Guard has arrested Marco Antonio Navarro Tacoronte this morning, the intermediary who gives his name to the Mediator case, at the request of the investigating court number four of Arrecife in Lanzarote.
Navarro Tacoronte was arrested in Vecindario (Gran Canaria) around 4:00 a.m., at the hotel where he was staying.
According to judicial sources, after the arrest he will be brought to judicial disposition in the Guard Court of San Bartolomé de Tirajana in Gran Canaria. The reason has not yet transpired.
Once the police procedures of the arrest at the Civil Guard barracks in Vecindario are completed, the "Mediator" will be handed over in Maspalomas to the duty court in San Bartolomé de Tirajana.
Navarro Tacoronte is charged with several crimes related to corruption in the plot investigated by the Investigating Court number 4 of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, in which the former PSOE deputy Juan Bernardo Fuentes Curbelo, the former Director General of Livestock of the Government of the Canary Islands Taishet Fuentes and the retired general of the Civil Guard Francisco Espinosa Navas are also under investigation.
