The First Section of the Provincial Court of Las Palmas has sentenced J.A.B.O. this Wednesday in Arrecife for selling drugs in a bar on Añaza street in the capital of Lanzarote.

The Public Ministry condemns J.A.B.O. for carrying inside the establishment a bag with 12.84 grams of cocaine of 80.3% purity to sell it.

According to the Prosecutor's Office, the accused threw this substance to the ground upon the arrival of the police officers. Thus, after searching him, they seized one hundred euros in cash, which the Ministry assures comes from the illicit sale. In total, the seized drug had a value of 3,349 euros on the black market.

The defense and the Prosecutor's Office have reached an agreement by which the accused will go from serving four years in prison to one year, six months and one day. In addition, he has reduced the fine from 4,000 euros to 3,349.61, which, if not paid, must serve 10 more days in prison.

However, the defense and the Public Ministry have agreed to suspend the sentence because the convicted person only has a criminal record for minor crimes and "they are not relevant", so he should not go to prison.

In the event that the convicted person commits a crime in the next three years, he must serve the full sentence imposed by the Prosecutor's Office.
