The strike of Justice officials has forced the suspension of the statements scheduled for this Wednesday within the framework of the Cuarteles case. The case, which is being handled by the Investigating Court number two of Madrid, studies the awarding of contracts for works and rehabilitation granted to the contractor from Lanzarote Ángel Ramón Tejera, known as "Mon", in thirteen Civil Guard headquarters for others that were allegedly not carried out or were done halfway.
As the Superior Court of Justice of Madrid has confirmed to La Voz, there are no new appointments scheduled. For the moment, we will have to wait to know the testimonies of the former head of the Civil Guard Command of Ávila Carlos Alonso Rodríguez, who had requested to appear at his own request, and of Lieutenant General Pedro Vázquez Jarava. As well as Ángel Ramón Tejera himself and another self-employed worker under investigation.
Within the framework of this alleged corruption plot, Magistrate Isabel Durántez is investigating the possible bribery or bribery offenses in the actions of the four investigated, as well as the offenses of continued falsification of an official document and embezzlement.
A crime against the public treasury
In addition, businessman Ángel Ramón Tejera has a trial pending in Arrecife for an alleged crime against the Public Treasury. The trial, which was to take place last April in the Criminal Court number one of Arrecife, was suspended because one of the lawyers had a previous appointment in another judicial body. In this case, the Las Palmas Prosecutor's Office is asking for three years in prison for Ángel Ramón Tejera for a possible crime against the Public Treasury. According to the indictment to which La Voz has had access, the reason would be the alleged deductions as expenses of unjustified amounts.
